It's a start

I have been meaning to run for about 6 weeks, but sickness (jaycee), lack of motivation, and probably some stress has kept me from running.

Today was like all those other days, I felt blah!! So I decided that I didn't care if there was an inversion or not, I was going to run. When my dreadmill...aka treadmill is not being used, I use it as a drying rack for my clothes. :) So that was out, and I didn't want to drive all the way to the gym. I needed instant run gratification!!!

I put on my running tights, saucony kicks, ipod shuffle and headed out the door. My plan was to run  mile and see how I felt. I was going to run at least1, and if I was tired or couldn't breath I could just walk the mile home. It has been since the day before Thanksgiving that I have ran...crappy, I KNOW!! I was scared that I would totally suck! And that it would discourage me.

It was absolutely wonderful! I fell into a good rythym early on, and when I got to 1 mile I headed further away from my house, I looped back around and ended up running 3 miles! A fantastic feet for someone who hasn't been running a whole lot lately.

I feel well on my way to getting back to running 1/2 marathons. I hope this year to improve my speed and recovery.

Things I need:

New tunes for Ipod
New shoes
10lb weight loss
New earphones

I am looking forward to running Ragnar, and the Ogden 1/2 this year...I will add more races soon.

New blog


I am starting this blog to motivate me to do a FULL marathon and start doing triathalons. I will still post family stuff on my other blog, but want to use this one for my races, training, and weight loss. (I hope)
